We awoke to a winter wonderland developing outside our apartment! It’s two o’clock in the afternoon and it hasn’t let up yet! Zack was really hoping for a good snow during his vacation, so of course we had to take advantage of it despite all of the ladies in the house having a cold. We just arrived back from a walk into town to rent some movies. Strawberry Shortcake Princess something-or-another for Miss. P, and a HBO Western for Zack and I. Slim pickin’s, I guess everyone else had the same idea.
This morning was our first “school day.” Penelope did worksheets, half an hour of Spanish, exercise until that turned into dancing – a.k.a. fun exercise, one episode of Planet Earth – with snack time, counting using fingers and monkeys in a barrel, and a Bible Lesson on Noah.
So, with some of my birthday money I was going to get my wedding rings resized. I haven’t been able to wear them since I became pregnant with Miss P., and now that I won’t be having anymore kids it seemed like the perfect time. A light bulb went off for me today, I decided to run my finger under F R E E Z I N G cold water and use soap to slip the shiny bugger over my large knuckle. It worked! Saved me fifty bucks! I will probably lose circulation in the hot Missour-ah summer heat, but until then I am so glad to have my rings back on!
I know that January, February, and most of March I will be stuck indoors. I haven’t even had time to become still this winter, which means cabin fever hasn’t settled in and I am already thinking about what furniture I can move where, what can I organize better?, etc. Lord help Zack in the next few months, and thank you for a patient go-with-the-flow husband to walk through life with! Oh, and please be with Penelope’s future husband, as I know she will be the same way…poor fellas.
Happy New Year everyone!!
