A DAY JUST FOR MISS MIA

_MG_1284C

I think it is safe to say Miss Rae had a terrific first birthday!

There wasn’t really a “theme, but I still managed to have fun making decorations, and Miss P sure was a big helper!!

We made “pie fries,” which is usually made with crust scraps, but someone brought pies, so I had four whole crusts to use up, so we had a lot of cinnamon sugar fries to snack on. (Baked at 300 for 15 minutes)

It was a perfect day!! The weather could not have been nicer, kids could not have been happier, and all of the food turned out well!

Is there anything more precious than a little lady and her great-grandma??

Nope. I can’t think of anything…

I made my lactose intolerant lady some mini apple pies. I cut small apples into rings, peeled them, and then  cut circles from dough using mason jar lids, then baked them for 45 minutes at 300 degrees.

She liked them!! Hooray!!

After the celebrating calmed down, the kids played and played and played some more.

Cousins are the best!

Amelia found a bowl of apples. She is nuts about apples. If you want  to see her get down right giddy, present her with an apple.

Thank you so so much to everyone who showed up, and to everyone who wished her a happy day!

SURPRISE!

_MG_9629

We had planned on my friend, Lindsey and her kiddos coming over last Friday.

Well, she surprised us and brought my friend Jennie and her kids!

Not only that, but they came fully stocked with party supplies to give Penelope another party (since they missed hers earlier this month.) – it was such a sweet moment, knowing people love and care for my baby girl.

Yep, they even brought a bounce house!

Amelia was able to hang out with her buddies as well. I could tell she doesn’t get nearly enough time to play with other babies. She just stared blankly at them for the longest time.

Her friend Paulina picked out each girl a large balloon, and each of the girls brought Penelope a gift!!

They even brought cupcakes and tons of icing and sprinkles.

It. Was. Awesome.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies!!!! You have created such a beautiful memory for my lady.

MR. & MRS. : : OREGON BOUND

_MG_5360

My brother and his Mrs. are moving to Oregon at the end of the month. I am super bummed, and at the same time, really happy for them! (Miss Sadie Boo joined us!)

Penelope discovered pretzel sticks, and could have not been more happy about this. She only got sillier from here, but I somehow started to cut her head off…oops. :)

My adorable and awesome nephews!

I haven’t asked them of they liked it or not yet, but I can’t get enough! My parents couldn’t stop laughing at how hard it is to take a group photo with cranky grandkids, and Megahn doing a silly something-or-other behind my head in attempts to pull out some smiles! It was a pretty great moment.

Joseph and Megahn’s babies.

Notice this is the same Rootbeer can Leo had been drinking from. It took them about a half an hour of swapping this can to finally finish it.

Two brothers at opposite ends of the country and the sisters smack dab in the middle…
